Alienated!
Comiculture #1 is out, and with it, the first installment of my new project, An Alien Ate My Brain. It's the first directly comics related work I've done in years, and it's been both fun and very educational (for more on that, see my weblog).
In addition to my spot in the premiere issue of Comiculture (thanks, Steve!) I'm also heavily involved in putting together this companion website. The last few years of my professional life have been a good preparation; I served two years as Creative Director for the now-defunct Fox Kids Network's web site, and I've been running the website for LABiker, a local Los Angeles motorcycle club.
The Comiculture site is an exciting proposition for us because it allows us to extend the content offerings beyond the pages of the quarterly mag, and also provide a medium of interaction between comic professionals and comic readers.
My own personal contribution to this interaction can be found in these pages:
Bio - more background info about me
Projects - links to information about what I'm working on
Weblog - the first installment is a piece about putting your own comic out- "On Being an Auter"
Gallery- Images from my projects and other miscellaneous stuff
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy both the site and the magazine!
